A dark, buddy action RPG
CODE VEIN is a premium Souls-like action RPG that requires players to work in tandem with a partner—it could either be an AI stand-in or a friend in multiplayer co-op—as they traverse a post-apocalyptic world where hell has raised its fury.
Much like any other action game, CODE VEIN enables players to equip their characters with an array of weapons and level up special abilities that vary per character class. Its high difficulty and fast-paced combat have also put it up to par with titles like Dark Souls II and Mortal Shell.

CODE VEIN presents players with an incredibly challenging yet hellishly engaging combat system. The game revolves heavily around a buddy system where—as previously mentioned—you have to work with a second player and coordinate with each other to maximize your strengths and battle numerous powerful opponents in perfect harmony. Players will start off by choosing one out of three character classes.
As you progress further into the heart of this action-packed adventure, you will be able to unlock even more character classes in addition to the numerous weapons that you can also obtain. You can even switch between classes at any time. Best of all, each class or Blood Code has its own unique strengths and abilities that you can maximize and level up in order to defeat different enemy types.
Paired with the game’s stunning anime-inspired graphics and lifelike animations, you can easily immerse yourself in this thrilling RPG as if you were simply watching an animated film. The lore-filled plot also adds a thrill of mystery, which will continue to unravel both through the main story and through the little details mixed into the game. Working with the AI partner in solo mode can pose major challenges, though.
